Paula Abdul Opens Up About Fan Suicide

"American Idol" judge Paula Abdul is opening up about the suicide of "American Idol" contestant and alleged stalker Paula Goodspeed.

"It was devastating and tragic, and there aren't enough feelings that I can articulate without getting into a whole plethora of things," Abdul tells "Good Morning America."
Goodspeed was found dead this past month in a car near Abdul's Los Angeles home. The cause of death was from an apparent drug overdose.

"I've got to tell you, luckily for me, I was at Hollywood week for 'American Idol' when it happened. I can't even imagine if I was right there in my home," Paula said.
"It's just been a very, very tough three weeks for me ... and for her family and for everyone involved."

Exclusive Peek! Marley & Me

What could be more fun than Jennifer Aniston, Owen Wilson and a bunch of Lab puppies? The making of Marley & Me, the upcoming holiday flick that brings the best-selling book to life.

Dozens of dogs played Marley throughout the film. In this scene, Clyde, the dog that often played “naughty” Marley, takes Aniston’s character for a walk during dog-training class. “Clyde let havoc rein, there’s no acting here, he’s not being coached to run anywhere,” Frankel says.

Owen Wilson and his costar Copper the dog, who played an older Marley, are seen here taking a break in-between takes on a beautiful day in the Pennsylvania countryside. “Copper didn’t really move so well, so rather than moving him [a costume designer] created shade for him there,” says Frankel of the 13-year-old dog.

"She came really close to adopting one," says director David Frankel of his female lead, Jennifer Aniston, who plays Jennifer Grogan in Marley & Me. A dog lover in real-life, Aniston is already mom to dogs Norman and Dolly. "In the end,she felt she had her hands full."

Jessica Simpson: I'm Shy!

Everyone knows that Jessica Simpson has had a pop career, a reality TV show, a very public divorce, a string of not-that-great movies, a famous NFL quarterback boyfriend and is now attempting the crossover to country music. But for all that the public knows, the bubbly blonde claims she's not that outgoing.

"I am a very shy person, but I do believe that God has blessed me with a gift that I need to share."

"I always wanted to be entertaining in some way. Whether it's cooking dinner for a best friend or [onstage], I try to do it up right."

As for trying her best, J. Simp is out to prove that she really does have what it takes to be a country singer, going on tour with Rascal Flatts in January with her album, Do You Know.

"I can't wait to be a part of their show and let everyone know that I do actually sing and I'm not just in tabloids," she says.

Heath Ledger Receives His First Acting Award Of The Year

In what will likely be the first of several major awards given to late actor Heath Ledger in the coming months, the Australian Film Institute honored the star with their best actor award at a ceremony in Melbourne, Australia, over the weekend.

"It has been without a doubt the most difficult year, losing such a loved family member," Heath's sister Kate told the packed auditorium as she accepted the award along with the actor's parents. "We are so proud of him and humbly accept this award on behalf of his beautiful daughter who we will cherish forever."

Heath, who passed away in January at the age of 28 in a rented NYC apartment after an accidental overdose of painkillers and other medicines, is expected to be one of this awards season's biggest winners for his unforgettable take on comic book villain The Joker in the summer blockbuster. He was previously nominated for an Oscar for his work on 2005's Brokeback Mountain.

Owen Wilson Talks About Working With Jen Aniston

It's hard to imagine a celebrity on the level of Owen Wilson being starstruck or intimidated by anyone in Hollywood, but that's exactly how the actor felt in the days leading up to working with Jen Aniston on their film Marley & Me."I felt extra pressure that we got along," he explains in an interview with USA Today.

"I had so many friends that had worked with Jen, and everybody has said the same thing, how much they loved working with her. I didn't want to be the one guy she hates!"

However, says Jen, her funnyman co-star had no reason to worry. "It was an instant ease when we met and started rehearsing," she says. "Sometimes you actually really like the person you are having good chemistry with. We lucked out."

One thing that Jen is hoping to get out of the high-profile romantic comedy is a bit of a holiday from the headlines about her personal life, whether it's her former husband Brad Pitt or current
boyfriend John Mayer.

O.J. Simpson Heads To Jail

Karma, anyone...?
Former football great O.J Simpson was sentenced to prison on Friday for at least nine years in a bizarre armed robbery case he had claimed was meant to retrieve his own sports memorabilia at a Las Vegas hotel in 2007.

Simpson, who was convicted on Dec.3 — 13 years to the day he was acquitted in the deaths of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ronald Goldman, appeared to break down in tears in the Las Vegas courtroom as he told the judge he was "sorry and confused" before going into a rambling and emotional five-minute declaration.

Amy Pohler Appears On SNL Saturday

Just six weeks after giving birth to bouncing baby Archie Arnett on Oct. 25, Amy Poehler made a surprise return to Saturday Night Live. Poehler reprised her impression of Sen. Hillary Clinton during Saturday's cold open and co-anchored "Weekend Update" with Seth Meyers. "You thought I was gone, didn't you?" said Poehler as Clinton with a wink.

The cold-open sketch had Hillary attempting to convince herself that being appointed President-elect Barack Obama's Secretary of State was, in fact, better than winning the presidency or being the governor of Alaska. "This job is almost a dream come true," she cracked.

Darrell Hammond popped in as Bill Clinton to affirm that the political power couple is back. "You voted for change, but you ain't never going to change this," he drawled. "We Clintons are here to stay," added Hillary. "You may think we're down, but like the South, vampires and Britney Spears, we will rise again."

After traversing more than 40,000 miles over 22 days, the brother-sister team of Nick and Starr Spangler was the first to cross the finish line, getting declared the newest winners of the CBS Emmy-magnet and receiving the $1 million prize.

"She's been unbelievable on this race," the 22-year-old Nick said of his little sister. "More than $1 million, more than being the winners of The Amazing Race, I love the experience that I've gone through with my sister, and I've loved seeing her succeed so greatly."

Twilight Director Backs Out Of Sequel!

Catherine Hardwicke delivered the biggest opening weekend ever for a female film director—not to mention Robert Pattinson to the screaming fans—but it doesn't look like she'll be getting the chance to top that record with the next Twilight film.

The helmer has parted ways with the series. "I am sorry that due to timing I will not have the opportunity to direct New Moon," said Hardwicke. "Directing Twilight has been one of the great experiences of my life, and I am grateful to the fans for their passionate support of the film. I wish everyone at Summit the best with the sequel—it is a great story."
