Money really can't buy love — at least, not for Paris Hilton. The heiress and rocker Benji Madden have split up, after nine months of dating."Even though they are still in love, they felt it would be better to just be friends," a source reportedly told Us. A rep confirmed the split to the magazine.
Since going public with their relationship last February, the two have seemingly been attached at the hip, even throwing taste to the wind and wearing rings with each other's initials. At one point, Madden was quoted as calling Hilton "wife material," while she gushed on her blog, "I've never felt so happy and in love, [Benji] is such an amazing guy and life has never been better!"
A source says that the two plan to remain friends — a good plan, considering that Madden's brother, Joel, is the boyfriend Hilton's best friend, Nicole Richie (not to mention the father of Richie's child).
