Three More Finalists Join American Idol's Top 12

A big voice in a small package, 16-year-old Allison singlehandedly woke up the judges, who had been sinking into their chairs under the weight of bad song choices, when she boomed out "How Do I Get You Alone."

Her mature performance scored her tonight's first ticket into the Top 12 when Ryan Seacrest started the reaping and sowing.

Adam, with his David Cook-reminiscent hairdo and theatrical but inviting stage presence, was also a near sure thing—and sure enough, to his and our "Satisfaction," America agreed.

And Kris Allen, aided by good looks, sheer likeability and potential—his "Man in the Mirror" was better the second time around, minus the nerves— who filled the final slot.

Meanwhile, the judges finally admitted out loud that they would be picking a few of their favorite for the upcoming Wild Card sing-off, to take place March 5.

"Maybe even a couple from tonight you're going to see again," teased Simon Cowell.

Kendra Wilkinson's Bro to Walk Her Down the Aisle

After much speculation, it appears Hugh Hefner will not give Kendra Wilkinson away on her wedding day to Hank Baskett.

"I would definitely love for him to walk me down [the aisle]," Kendra reports of Hef's offer, but adds that she decided her brother would ultimately be a better choice.

"I think it would mean a lot to my family and me down the line," the bubbly blonde says. "It just makes more sense."

So does Hef have any hard feelings about the change of plans?

It doesn't sound like it, since they're still getting married at the Playboy Mansion. "Hef loves Hank," Kendra says, revealing that the two men in her life share another common interest—both are big fans of the comic book character Flash Gordon.

One subject Hef and Hank don't agree on? Reality TV. Kendra says she can't wait for her spin-off show to start this summer on E! but her fiance isn't as eager. “It’s hard for him. He's a football player,” says Kendra.

And although her own love life is going great, Kendra can't help but reflect on Holly Madison's sudden split with Criss Angel.

“It sucks that they broke up, and I hope she finds what she was looking for,” says Kendra. “I don't know what happened. I hope she finds happiness. She is a great person with so much love to give.”

Their first dance will be "the Cha Cha."

Smirnoff is paired with Apple co-founder Steve Woziak.

"He's a little out of his element but has the biggest personality you'll ever meet," she says. "He's super funny and super charming."

American Idol Recap From Wednesday Night

A week after seeing nine of their compatriots felled by bad song choices and fickle phone-in voting habits, another dozen American Idol hopefuls trotted out tonight to sing for a spot in the Top 12.

One would think they had learned from the mistakes of their predecessors—from those who sang before them just last week, let alone of seasons past.

But while some took the opportunity to separate themselves from the pack, the rest plucked one ill-conceived single from the Billboard Hot 100 (past and present) after another.

Until the fourth number of the night or so, it seemed as if the only people reading fan blogs were the show's producers, who nixed last week's squirmy gimmick of having Ryan Seacrest interview the contestants and their families right after each performance, most of whom had just been given the seal of disapproval by the judges.

Not that there weren't some killer moments. Read on for tonight's rundown

• Jasmine Murray: Why is it when these great-seeming singers finally end up in front of a full band, so many of them fall flat? The 16-year-old from Mississippi eased into the spotlight as her performance of Sarah Bereilles' "Love Song" wore on, but these recent Top 40 hits remain beyond the female semifinalists' grasp. Randy Jackson thought she was going to come out "singing some Rihanna or something" (an unintentionally loaded reference these days) and Kara DioGuardi agreed it was all over the place. Paula Abdul wanted to disagree…but couldn't.

• Matt Giraud: No one needs this version of "Viva La Vida." The 23-year-old dueling piano player, a big favorite (up till now?) decided to jazz up Coldplay's latest Grammy-winning single and it just wasn't necessary. "You turned from someone very cool at the piano, singing Ray Charles, into sort of a wannabe pop star in a very kind of jerky, uncomfortable way," Simon Cowell said.

• Jeanine Vailes: Even Paula went "out on a limb" and said the 27-year-old SoCal native didn't deserve another shot after butchering Maroon 5's "This Love." From the bad outfit (nice legs, but still) to the awkward fist pumps toward the end (the best part, according to Randy), Jeanine may have overcompensated in the worst way for not getting a lot of face time in prior weeks.

• Nick Mitchell: It was a rough way for Norman Gentle to go. Despite some curiously strong high points, Mitchell's Dreamgirls-inspired assertion that he's not going probably guaranteed that he's on his way out. The alter-ego-utilizing crooner dressed for the occasion—shiny shirt and white tails—but unless everyone tanks tonight, he's done.

• Allison Iraheta: Not caring that "How Do I Get You Alone" wasn't exactly an inspired choice, the 16-year-old broke way out of the pack tonight by ignoring the bloggers who think the song should have been retired after Carrie Underwood had it and singing the crap out of the Heart classic.

• Kris Allen: The very personable 23-year-old sounded perfectly fine singing "Man in the Mirror," but Michael Jackson's hit is just so loaded with meaning and pedigree, it was going to take more than a proficient run at the end to make it pop. "Completely wrong song," Kara said. But Paula disagreed completely…and so did Simon, who thinks the fact that "the chicks" will like Kris might be enough to pull him through.

• Megan Corkrey: We weren't in love with the baby-doll dress and ballet flats, but her treatment of Corinne Bailey Rae's "Put Your Records On" was way more interesting than most of what we heard tonight. The judges keep calling her a "packaged artist" but it's her differences that are going to get Megan into the Top 12.

• Matt Breitzke: Maybe Tonic just wasn't rough-and-tumble enough for the burly welder. Parts of his take on "If You Could Only See" sounded really nice, while other parts seemed…wussy. "It didn't show us any side of you," Kara lamented, while Simon said flat out, "It was boring."

• Jesse Langseth: Sultry and, most importantly, pleasing to the ear, the 26-year-old single mom had her way with "Bette Davis Eyes" by Kim Carnes. She theoretically did enough to deserve a spot in the next round but whether she has mass appeal remains to be seen. Randy generalized hers as "just another cool kind of a performance," but it was cooler than most tonight.

• Kai Kalama: Finally, a male contestant who seemed to be enjoying himself onstage. Too bad the judges thought his enthusiasm was misplaced. Kai, who at least has some of the best hair in this competition, might be done after throwing himself on the mercy of the Fried Green Tomatoes theme, "What Becomes of the Brokenhearted" (which was originally a Motown hit by Jimmy Ruffin), and getting the "hotel or wedding-singer" response from Simon.

• MIshavonna Henson: Unusual. Her version of Train's "Drops of Jupiter" sounded good from note one. The 18-year-old beauty would do well to assume a less menacing expression while performing…but vocally it was delightful. Unfortunately, it still left Simon cold. "You act like a 50-year-old," he informed the barely legal singer.

• Adam Lambert: It took until the final seven minutes, but at last someone came roaring out of the gate trying to put his stamp on a classic. Lambert, a 26-year-old professional theater kid, rocked the Rolling Stones' "Satisfaction." Quirky, entertaining, sexy and "a bit manic," as Randy said, but it was on a whole other level.

Find out what America thought of all that on Thursday's live results show. The top guy and girl and then the next-highest vote-getter will advance.

George Clooney Will Appear In March 12th Episode Of ER

George Clooney will be back in his scrubs for one final episode of the NBC medical drama that will air March 12.

A show insider tells PEOPLE that Clooney will reunite with Julianna Margulies in a storyline that also features Susan Sarandon, making her ER debut as a grandmother grief-stricken over the sudden death of her grandson.

Although execs of Warner Brothers and NBC have been coy about Clooney's return, ER's executive producer John Wells did tell PEOPLE on Wednesday that the March 12 episode will be a memorable one. "If you're a fan of ER, you won't want to miss this one," said Wells, stopping short of naming the main attraction, Clooney as Dr. Doug Ross.

The episode brings Clooney's character back to his longtime love Margulies' nurse Carol Hathaway. Will the star-crossed pair finally get their happy ending?

Wells, who wrote the series' final episodes, would say only, "I want their story to be very fulfilling in the end." Clooney, 47, left ER in 1999 for roles on the big screen. Margulies, 42, who exited the series the following year, recently welcomed her first child Kieran, with husband, attorney Keith Lieberthal. The show began shooting its two-hour final episode this week. Its series finale will air April 2.

Jeremy Piven Faces Legal Trouble After His Mercury Poisoning

Last month we reported that the producers of the Broadway play Speed-the-Plow filed a grievance against Jeremy with Actors' Equity for abruptly quitting due to a diagnosis of mercury poisoning after eating too much sushi.

Well, tomorrow a hearing is set to take place at Equity headquarters in Manhattan and Piven is expected to be there to defend himself.

Jeremy will appear before a committee of five actors and five producers and is expected to bring the results of a blood test showing his mercury levels, reports the New York Post.

He's also likely to detail how his illness prevented him from completing the show, which left the producers scrambling for replacements and caused a drop in ticket sales.

The producers are expected to allege that before Jeremy claimed to be ill, he was angling to leave the show. They also have a record of where Jeremy's driver took him after performances, sources tell the New York Post. It has been alleged that he was out partying in Manhattan clubs when he was said to have been deathly ill.

If the grievance committee rules against the actor, who has won several Emmys and Golden Globes for his work on Entourage, it can force him to settle financially with the producers. If he refuses to abide by the committee's decision, he can be expelled from the union — and the producers can sue him in civil court.

Shortly after Jeremy up and left the play, he told Diane Sawyer that the allegations that he was partying too hard weren't true. "The last thing I ever thought about doing was not completing this run," he said. "I've never not completed anything in my life. They pulled me out of this thing, and that's the truth."

Enter fresh-faced Taylor Lautner, who stars as Jacob, to steal the spotlight. "I wanted to get Twilight over with, let Edward have his time with Bella and get moving with New Moon," Taylor tells Life & Style. "It's about time Jacob got in there."

Dancing With The Stars' Mark Ballas And American Idol's Joanna Pacitti Are A Couple

It’s a match made in a reality TV heaven: Dancing with the Stars‘ Mark Ballas and former American Idol contestant Joanna Pacitti are a couple!

“She is the most supportive person in my life and she’s been great,” Ballas, 22, told PEOPLE Tuesday at the Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience world premiere in Hollywood. “We get to spend a lot of time together [and] we do pretty much everything together.”

Although the two have “been friends for a long time,” the Dancing pro says they only recently started dating eight months ago — when Ballas was training with season 6 champ Kristi Yamaguchi in North Carolina, where Pacitti was living at the time — and clicked because of their similarities.

“We both love music, we both love art, we both love dance,” explains Ballas, whose album BHB with best friend and fellow Dancing pro Derek Hough is coming out Mar. 10. “That’s what we’re all about so we are always there for each other.”“I think we have the perfect situation,” Pacitti, 24, told PEOPLE. “We both get each other and understand schedules and even on a musical level, I’ve never met someone that’s so passionate about music…that’s what I live for so it’s amazing to be with someone who gets it.”

Pacitti, who auditioned for this season’s American Idol and made the Top 36, was dropped from the show because producers had “determined [she] is ineligible to continue in the competition,” FOX said in a statement. The Idol hopeful had previous record deals and reportedly knew executives at 19 Entertainment, one of the companies involved with the show.

Still, Pacitti has no hard feelings about leaving Idol. “I actually had an amazing time on the show and I met some amazing friends…Everything happens for a reason and it’s opened up a lot of opportunities.”

Adds Ballas, “I think she is amazingly talented and has the most beautiful voice. I tell her, ‘Keep your head up, keep going strong, never give up’ and I’m just here to hold her hand.”

John Mayer: I Went to the Oscars With Jen Aniston for "Moral Support"

John Mayer admits he was "very, very nervous" to attend the Academy Awards with girlfriend Jennifer Aniston on Sunday.

"It's not my world, the Oscar thing," he said on Ryan Seacrest's KIIS-FM radio show Wednesday while promoting his cruise line, the Mayercraft Carrier 2.

"You can go from a Grammy winner to a water boy when you walk in the Kodak Theatre on Oscar night," he added. "That's just like a whole different level."

He said he went as "moral support" for Aniston, who presented an award in front of ex Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.

Although he went there to support Aniston, Mayer said his role soon turned into: "'Will you please introduce me to so-and-so?'"

Added the singer, "It was really, really fun."

"As men, we're incredibly sensitive about the decisions that we make with the women that we're with," he went on.

"I'm the kind of person who's like: If I'm going out with a friend who's bringing a woman and that friend brings another friend and I have to sit on one side of the table with that other person I don't know, I have a terrible time because I always feel like people look by and go, 'Oh, look who he's with!'"

"The whole thing is very odd to me," he added. "I maybe need to grow up or something."

"So the idea of walking down a red carpet is such ... you know that forever, I basically stepped into the picture frame of Hollywood," Mayer continued. "For one night, I put on the most amazing suit and entered into the picture frame."

"You have to really be with someone that you know who has your back in that situation, and she did, and it was really great," said Mayer.

Asked why he and Aniston decided to make the Oscars their first major public event together, he said, "At some point, you feel comfortable and say this is the choice I want to make."

"I think a year is a pretty good period of time with which to say, 'Let's go have a really good time at the Oscars!'"

Before hanging up, Mayer told Seacrest he worried his fans would "misconstrue" his words about Aniston.

Jewel Sidelined From Dancing With the Stars

Jewel may not be doing the jig after all.

The singer, 34, blogs that she has tendonitis in her knees, and she may be forced to scrap her gig on the new season of ABC's Dancing With the Stars, debuting March 9.

"I guess I really over did it on the rehearsal front!" she writes. "My knees have been hurting so badly that I finally broke down and talked to [husband Ty Murray's] knee doctor yesterday. He said I have tendonitis in my knees and that I have to start a course of medicine to try and bring the swelling down. Yuck! It's mainly my left knee, and I can't believe I hurt it so badly."

She says her husband had warned her about overdoing it.

Adds the singer, "Now he got a big ol' 'I told you so' in!'"

She says she can't dance for the next couple days.

"It was just so fun to dance 8 hours a day," she says, adding that she only had three weeks to cram for her first dance, the cha cha, and "learn the fundamentals of about 6 other dances."

"Now I'm just worried I won't even be able to dance!" she says.

Joking, Jewel adds, "Hopefully these steroids will really do the trick and I can keep bad flare ups at a bay in the future."

Holly Madison and Magician Criss Angel Call It Quits!

Girls Next Door star Holly Madison and magician Criss Angel have called it quits.

Earlier this month, a source told Us their relationship -- which began after she split with Playboy mogul Hugh Hefner last October -- was on the rocks.

"All she's doing is following Criss Angel around to all of his magic shows, with no legitimate job to speak of," said an insider. "She's still heartbroken and regretful about how things went down with Hef.

"Then she ran into the arms of Criss Angel. But then it's like, 'This is not everything I thought it would be.'"

Madison, 29, and Angel, 41, began dating late last year after she split with Playboy mogul Hugh Hefner last October.

The two seemed to be in high spirits around the holidays, celebrating their joint birthdays at Las Vegas' LAX Nightclub on Dec. 19.

"I made Criss a paper ring, but he won't wear it," she said. "When he starts wearing his paper ring, I will be the one to propose."

Added Angel, "You know, what Holly and I have is really something that money can’t buy. She is enough for me."

They also met each other's parents around the holidays.

Does 'The Bachelor''s Jason Mesnick Make a Choice?

Next Monday night, "The Bachelor"'s Jason Mesnick will make one of the most difficult decisions of his life!

Even before the season got underway, Jason revealed that he had found love. The question remains: Will it be brunette Melissa, a 25-year-old sales representative from Dallas, TX, or blonde Molly, a 24-year-old department store buyer from Grand Rapids, MI, to whom he professes his love?

Today, ABC released the following tease: "Jason's proposal to the love of his life was one of the most romantic moments in 'Bachelor' history, but no one is prepared for what happens when Jason and the final two women return to the studio for 'The Bachelor: After the Final Rose.'"

The buzz on the Web is that Jason changes his mind -- and the woman he picks initially is not the woman he ends up with. But this is pure speculation at this point and fans will have to tune in to find out if that is what the shocker is.

It could also be connected to the surprise return of DeAnna Pappas, the woman who rejected Jason when she was "The Bachelorette," whose visit impacts Jason's final decision. After their conversation, Jason is more torn than ever.

Also on Monday night's episode, Melissa and Molly meet Jason's four-year-old son Ty, as well as his family.

The season finale of "The Bachelor" airs Monday, March 2 at 8 p.m., followed by "The Bachelor: After the Final Rose" at 10 p.m. on ABC.

Slumdog Stars Land Next Big Gigs

Debuting in the year's Best Picture is a hard act to follow, but Slumdog Millionaire stars Dev Patel and Freida Pinto already have new projects on the horizon.

Pinto, who played Latika in Slumdog, which scooped up eight Oscars Sunday night, will join a cast that includes Naomi Watts, Josh Brolin and Anthony Hopkins in Woody Allen's latest (still unnamed) film, according to Variety.

The paper earlier reported that Slumdog lead Patel will work withSixth Sense director M. Night Shyamalan on The Last Airbender, based on the popular Nickelodeon kid's series. Patel took over the role of baddie Prince Zuko from singer Jessse McCartney.

The stars – lovers in the film and buddies in real life – said their breakout year has been beyond belief. "In many ways it's a blessing and a start of a new life," Pinto reported of the film's success.

Patel, meanwhile, described the experience as "very dreamlike. I mean hopefully I don't wake up one day and it's all like a big dream!"

Real Housewives‘ Gretchen Has Good & Bad Days Since Fiancé’s Death

In the season finale of The Real Housewives of Orange County, viewers learned that Gretchen Rossi’s fiancé Jeff had lost his battle with cancer. Ahead of Tuesday’s reunion show, PEOPLE spoke with Rossi on the phone to find out how she’s doing now, what she thinks of the comments from Housewives Vicki and Tamra that she’s attention hungry and a stalker, if she’ll do another season of Housewives — and whether she’s riding that red hot Harley-Davidson.

How are you holding up?
Every day is a different emotion. I wake up and either I’m happy or I’m really sad so it really just depends on the day. It’s kind of like a moving river … there’s always something new that has come to the surface.

What’s your support system?
I have a really great family. They’ve been the ones that have been my main support system and I have a large group of friends that have really been there for me and have helped me through a lot of things as well.
I’ve also had a lot of opportunities to distract myself from what went on and one of those things is a huge honor … The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society as nominated me as one of the women of the year for 2009. It’s a fun competition between all of the candidates to see who can raise the most money. And I’m going to be starting a foundation in Jeff’s name. So that’s been something that’s really allowed me to keep Jeff’s memory alive.

Do you have any regrets about doing the show during such difficult time?
Of course I do. When Jeff and I agreed to do the show, he was doing really well. We actually thought that he was going to go into remission. His doctors were very optimistic. Unfortunately, cancer has a mind of its own and a month after we started shooting, he got extremely sick. He got pneumonia and had to go back into the hospital. Then the cancer just really started to take over his body more quickly than we could get to it with chemo and everything else we were trying.

What did you make of Vicki and Tamra’s comments in the finale?
It’s really disappointing. I feel like the women didn’t give me — in particular Tamra and Vicki — didn’t give me the opportunity to show them what was really going on between me and Jeff and the love we shared and what the true story was. Unfortunately, they just wanted to believe what they believe. At the end of the day, I know I can’t really help what other people are going to say about me and I’m just going to try and be the same person that I would be in any situation.

What did you make of their allegations that you copied them or stalked them by wanting to have a motorcycle like Tamra or drink the same thing as Vicki?
It’s absolutely hilarious. I have a lot bigger things going on in my life. My fiancé was dying of cancer. They acted like I sat around every week just watching to see what Tamra and Vicki had on the show. Last time I checked, I didn’t know that Tamra had the patent on pink, and last time I checked, I didn’t know that the dirty martini was an abnormal drink.

Britney Spears to Be Sawed in Half on Tour!

Britney Spears is putting on a magic show!

The pop star will be sawed in half -- among other stunts -- on her upcoming Circus tour.

"Right away, she got into the boxes and into the magic contraptions to learn the stuff, and she's so excited about this tour and all the elements that are in it," illusionist-comedian Ed Alonzo said.

Alonzo, known as "the Misfit of Magic," will be doing a number with Spears at each performance.
"We're going to be doing the classics of magic but a little high-tech," he said. "We'll be doing a little dissection, transposition, a vanish, an appearance," he said.

Spears will serve as Alonzo's assistant during the bit, but that won't stop her from missing out on the fun.

"If I do a trick, she doesn't just hold the props, she's actually getting inside the big boxes or I am slicing her up."

He added: I "made [the tricks] really easy for her, but there are some complicated things that she is doing that you would think a contortionist would have to do, or a trained magician's assistant. But because she's a dancer, it really makes sense to put her in the magic, and it works and she's really, really good at it."

Alonzo would not comment on which Spears song will accompany their joint performance, but he did say that the three-ring circus set helps them get into character.

"It's like watching a big Cirque du Soleil high-tech circus, but with a really focused star in the middle of all of this," he said. "It's going to be an amazing concert for people to watch."

Megan Fox and Actor Brian Austin Green Call Off Engagement

Megan Fox and fiance Brian Austin Green have split, Usmagazine.com has learned.

"The relationship had run its course," an insider reports. "It's completely amicable, and they are remaining friends."

Fox, 22 (who’ll reprise her role as Mikaela in this June’s sequel Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen), and Green, 35 (a regular on Fox's Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles), now “are both focusing on their careers," the source adds.

The couple -- who have tattoos of each other's names -- met in 2004 and, as Us first reported, got engaged in November 2006.

Last November, Fox said that the wedding plans were still on.

"It's not going to be a big wedding," she said at a GQ bash. "I'm not one of those girls. If it happens, it will be very low-key and quick and unplanned."

She said she and Green -- who has a 6-year-old son, Kassius, from a previous relationship -- haven't talked about wanting more kids.

"I feel like I need to set my career and do a movie other than Transformers," she said. "Then I’ll explore family."

Green laughed off split rumors last year.

"The last thing we do is get upset," he said. "We usually go have dinner and have a glass of wine and laugh about it."

Asked last July what he loves most about Fox, he told Us, "Everything is my favorite thing about her."

Julianne Hough Says Boyfriend Chuck Wicks’s Dancing Is ‘Hilarious’

Julianne Hough will have her real-life beau Chuck Wicks right by her side when Dancing with the Stars kicks off again March 9 –- and the dancing pro says her boyfriend is a real hoot on the dancefloor.

“It has been so much fun and really hilarious to see Chuck try to dance,” Hough writes in her MySpace celebrity blog. “Even thinking about it is funny! He is actually doing very well though. I was really surprised!”

Wicks, a country singer, is currently on tour — and Hough has hit the road with him as the two rehearse in between concerts. As she tells it, the experience of touring with her boyfriend while gearing up for DWTS has been a unique experience.

“It has been a little challenging trying to find studios that have mirrors and wood floors on the road,” she writes.

Another challenge? Being surrounded by all the guys on tour.

“I’m on a bus with even more guys than are on my bus, so I’m going a little coo coo (sic),” she writes. “My highlight of today was going to Walgreens and getting a BUNCH of makeup and girly stuff like that just to feel like a girl again.”Hough also clears up one of her fans’ biggest questions in her blog post: She addresses why she is competing this season even though she previously announced she would sit it out to focus on her burgeoning music career.

“It was a last minute deal,” she writes. “I was set on taking this season off and then last minute the show asked me to do it because they had asked Chuck to do it and they thought it would be cool if we danced together.”

“At first I still said no because I wanted to focus on my music,” Hough continues, “BUT then I thought about it for a day and figured this out. I can still write, go on tour and work on Julianne Hough the country singer because Chuck will be my partner and that will be a huge luxury.”
