WALL-E Already Winning Awards

The Los Angeles Film Critics Association on Tuesday named the Disney-Pixar charmer WALL-E the Best Picture of 2008, the first time the cinema-honoring society has ever tapped an animated film for its top prize.

Already garnering speculation about a possible run at Best Picture at the upcoming Oscars, this is looking to be a very joyous awards season for the detritus-collecting robot and his Buster Keaton-caliber mode of silent expression.

It's A Girl For Trista And Ryan Sutter

Bachelorette Trista Sutter and her firefighter husband, Ryan, are thrilled to learn they are having a baby girl. “We found out a few weeks ago,” Trista says. “It was such a fun surprise. We went to our last ultrasound appointment with Ryan’s parents, my parents and Max (their 16-month-old son) and we were all in the room together when the doctor said, ‘It’s a girl.’ Everyone got so teary-eyed and emotional.”

Trista confides that while the baby’s gender wasn’t as important to her as the baby’s health, she can admit now she is ecstatic. “I can’t wait to dress her up in cute little outfits. I’m such a girlie girl. It will be so much fun to do things like get manicures together.” While Trista and Ryan have already picked out their little girl’s name, they plan to keep it a secret until she is born in April.

Brad And Angie Bring His Parents To Brad's Premiere

The Los Angeles premiere of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button was a family affair for Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie — they were accompanied to the event by his parents.
Jane and Bill Pitt walked the red carpet with Angelina, who wore a strapless black dress for the occasion.

With Jane and Bill by her side, a smiley, happy looking Angelina told Entertainment Tonight she was "proud" of her partner's work and talked about how it emphasizes the importance of family.

"I think you just, as Brad said, you may want to call your folks and hug your kids," the mom of six told the show. "But it does, it makes you think about the people in your life who are important to you."

Angie then asked Jane what she thought of the flick. "I cried, it's so beautiful," Jane told ET. "It's so touching. It's lovely; it's just a wonderful picture."

Oprah Is 200 Pounds

In the January's O magazine, Oprah Winfrey confesses that she now weighs 200 pounds and has "fallen off the wagon."

"I'm mad at myself," writes Winfrey, 54. "I'm embarrassed. I can't believe that after all these years, all the things I know how to do, I'm still talking about my weight. I look at my thinner self and think, 'How did I let this happen again?'"

In the article , Winfrey, 54, says she has struggled with an out-of-balance thyroid and the condition made her develop "a fear of working out."

She confessed that she's packed on 40 pounds since she weighed 160 pounds in 2006. "Yes, you're adding correctly; that means the dreaded 2-0-0," Winfrey says. "I was so frustrated I started eating whatever I wanted - and that's never good."

She says she hit rock bottom earlier this year when she wanted to skip an April 26 taping with Cher and Tina Turner in Las Vegas because she felt like "a fat cow." "I wanted to disappear," says Winfrey, who has famously yo-yoed over the years (she once weighed as many as 237 pounds).

She goes on to say that her goal now isn't to be thin; she just wants to be healthy.

So she is launching the "Best Life Week," beginning Jan. 5 on her talk show.
"I definitely wasn't setting an example," Winfrey writes in her article. "I was talking the talk, but I wasn't walking the walk. And that was very disappointing to me."

Jay Leno Will Host A Variety Show

Jay Leno is moving to prime time on NBC.

The network announced Tuesday on the Today show that Leno will host a new variety show at 10 p.m. on weeknights.

Conan O'Brien will become the host of the Tonight show beginning June 1, 2009.
Leno's deal at NBC keeps him from jumping to another network and competing with O'Brien. It will also save NBC money, as variety shows are cheaper to produce than dramas. We all saw how successful Rosie O'Donnel's Variety Show was!

More Grey's Anatomy Drama

This show has so many unhappy people working on it--so much drama surrounding these people and now T.R. Knight has apparently asked to be released from his Grey's Anatomy contract, the Associated Press reports.

On Monday, it was reported that the 35-year-old actor -- who has played Dr. George O'Malley since 2005 -- stormed out of a table reading.

A show rep later denied the report, albeit indirectly, saying that Knight "never walked off set in the middle of filming ... and will be shooting this week."

On Tuesday, however, sources were cited who claimed that the Emmy-nominated actor wants out of his contract because he is unhappy with his storyline and that creator Shonda Rhimes is ready to let him go.
