Twilight Dipped Only 5%

Two November hits catering to younger audiences hovered just outside the top ten with scant declines this weekend. The high school vampire drama Twilight dipped only 5% to an estimated $4.5M to boost Summit's cume to a remarkable $176.8M. On Monday, the teen love story will surpass the $176.9M of Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa to become the seventh biggest blockbuster of 2008 and it will become the highest-grossing hit since The Dark Knight.

Here are a couple of items that don’t really go with anything else, but they are interesting.

It seems that E! has only just caught on that there is Twilight merchandising, and they featured (of all things) the perfume currently being offered by Hot Topic.

Amazingly the existence of the 1,000’s of tee shirts, jewelry, dolls, and calendars has eluded them. In any case, it seems the idea for the perfume, or at least its container isn’t exactly original.

Autopsy Confirms Jett Travolta Died of "Seizure," Body to Be Cremated

Officials at a Bahamian funeral home have revealed the cause of death of John Travolta and Kelly Preston's son, Jett.

In a press conference in front of the Bahamian funeral home handling Jett's remains on Monday, Keith McSweeney, the funeral director, said that the 16-year-old's cause of death was from "a seizure disorder."

Doctors conducted an autopsy earlier in the day to determine the exact cause of death. He added that, "Police see fit that [there's] no need to detain the body. The body was turned over to me at 2:30 p.m. The family has requested cremation, and that is being done now. May God bless the Travolta family."

Assistant funeral director Glen Campbell said that the Travoltas' "lawyer and doctor" will be handing over the remains of Jett to the family. Travolta is expected to fly the remains to Florida on his personal plane tomorrow.

Samantha Harris to Join The Insider

Samantha Harris will join CBS's The Insider.

Harris, best known as co-host of the ABC show Dancing With the Stars, will be a correspondent and substitute anchor for the show, starting Monday.

Harris was previously a reporter for E! News and led coverage of the Oscars, Golden Globes and Emmys.

"We are thrilled to welcome Samantha to The Insider team," Linda Bell Blue, the show's executive producer, said Monday. Lindsay Lohan has denied she has split from her longtime girlfriend, Samantha Ronson.

Lohan blogged on Celebrity MySpace, "We did not break up... Get your stories straight please. It'sreally annoying to have all of your friends emailing you saying, I saw, Iread, etc... Not True."
Rumors have been surfacing about the pair's split since early December.

The pair were also spotted arguing at the Miami club Mansion on New Year’s Eve.

The denial follows a report earlier today by Access Hollywood claiming Lohan had moved out of the home she was sharing with the celebrity DJ.

Jennifer Love Hewitt and her fiancé Ross McCall have called it quits.

"They broke up over the holidays and have ended their engagement," says a source close to the couple. "They're both really sad about this. Even their friends are surprised; they seemed really happy. Everyone just wants the best for both of them."

Reps for both Hewitt and McCall had no immediate comment.

Oprah Blames Weight Gain on Abusing Food

Having already expressed how angry and embarrassed she feels after tipping the scales at 200 pounds, Oprah Winfrey is now doing something about it.

With her TV show launching Best Life Week on Monday, the media mogul, 54, says, according to a transcript posted on her official Web site, that when it came to her 40-lb. weight gain, "It's not about the food.

"It's about using food – abusing food. Too much work. Not enough play. Not enough time to come down. Not enough time to really relax."

She adds: "I am hungry for balance. I'm hungry to do something other than work."

Practically speaking, that means Winfrey – who has been diagnosed with hypothyroidism (a hormonal imbalance) – is devoting more time from her 14-hour workday schedule to her own well-being, including exercise. It also means she is finished making excuses for herself.

Winfrey says that last year she was forced to mask her figure every month for her cover shot on her O magazine.
"I've been hiding my body because I didn't want you to see it," she says. "Here I am, one of the most visible people in the world, trying not to be seen on the cover of my own magazine."

This year, she's stopped making excuses – and stopped hiding. For O's January issue, Winfrey poses next to a picture of her former svelte self, from 2005 – when she weighed 160 pounds.


"This is the year of hopefulness," she says, revealing her new attitude. "My goal is to be the weight that my body can hold and be healthy and strong and fit and be itself.

"One of the things I had to learn to do is to embrace this body that I have and be grateful for what this body has given me," she says. "God blessed me and this body. I mean, I could weep right now thinking about the love and appreciation I have for this body. For that, I am truly grateful."

Patricia Arquette Files Divorce Papers

Actress Patricia Arquette has filed for divorce from her actor-husband Thomas Jane.

ET has obtained divorce papers filed by the actress Monday in Los Angeles, where she cites irreconcilable differences. Arquette is seeking sole legal and physical custody of the couple's 5-year-old daughter, Harlow.

Arquette, 40, and Jane, 39, married in May 2006. The actress is not seeking spousal support, and she requests the court deny Jane spousal support.

Arquette is an Emmy-winning star of NBC's "Medium." Jane, who has starred in films 'The Mist' and 'The Punisher,' was placed on a year-long probation in September after he pleaded no contest to a drunken driving count.

The Obama Girls Start School In Washington

President-elect Barack Obama's daughters, Sasha and Malia, started their first day of school on Monday.

Along with a motorcade of U.S. Secret Service agents, Michelle Obama accompanied the girls to the Sidwell Friends School - which counts Chelsea Clinton as an alum.

Sasha, 7, is in second grade and attending the elementary school campus in Bethesda, Maryland, while Malia, 10, is in fifth grade and attending the Sidwell Friends middle school campus in Washington, DC. (Current tuition: $28,442 for Sasha's elementary school; $29,442 for Malia's middle school.)

Jerry O'Connell Names One Of His Twin Girls After His Brother

Jerry O'Connell's brother Charlie tells says"it's a real honor" that the actor and wife Rebecca Romijn named one of their newborn twin girls after him.

"The spelling is the same way that they spell my name, so if I get into trouble with credit one day, I can always use hers," the former Bachelor star joked in a telephone interview Monday.

It was Jerry's idea to name one of the girls Charlie, which is "the greatest name ever," he joked. "Rebecca came up with Dolly.

The girls -- who were born Dec. 28 -- are "real cute," he said. "Charlie looks more like Jerry, and I think Dolly looks more like Rebecca."

The new parents, Charlie added, "are doing really good. I think they're not really getting that much sleep, which is to be expected. At any given time, one of them are up."

So will Charlie and girlfriend Sarah Brice be giving Dolly and Charlie cousins anytime soon?
"As far as I know, no," he said, laughing. "That's not really my intention. I'm not really like, 'Oh, let’s make cousins."
