Newsers are abuzz with conflicting reports as to whether Caroline Kennedy is still making a bid to fill Hillary Clinton's NY Senate seat.
On Wednesday evening, a source told the Associated Press that Caroline is still pursuing the seat. Earlier in the day, sources told The New York Times that Kennedy had decided to withdraw her senate bid.
Kennedy reportedly placed a call to Gov. David Paterson Wednesday expressing her decision to withdraw. Paterson, who will select Clinton's replacement, was set to announce his decision on Saturday, says the Times.
The famous daughter of former President John F. Kennedy reportedly decided to withdraw because of the deteriorating health of her uncle, Sen. Edward Kennedy, who collapsed at the inauguration lunch of President Barack Obama on Tuesday because of a seizure.
Kennedy is planning to issue a statement Wednesday evening, says the report. Clinton resigned from her post in the Senate Wednesday after being sworn in as secretary of state.
