Jennifer Hudson -- whose mother, brother and 7-year-old nephew were brutally murdered in Chicago last October -- received some good news on Wednesday from the NAACP Image Awards.
The Oscar winner garnered seven nominations including best new recording artist, best female recording artist, best duo (with Fantasia) and best supporting actress (The Secret Life of Bees).
Meanwhile, Hudson's Dreamgirls co-star Beyonce grabbed five nominations, including best female recording artist, best video for both "If I Were a Boy" and "Single Ladies" and best supporting actress for Cadillac Records.
America Ferrera, Will Smith, Mariah Carey and Queen Latifah were also nominated.
The awards, hosted by Halle Berry and Tyler Perry, will air live on Feb. 12.
