Marley And Me Tops The Holiday Box Office!

Maybe Tom Cruise should co-star with a yellow lab next time.
Owen Wilson and Jennifer Aniston's flick, Marley & Me, bowed yesterday with an estimated $14.5 million, a new record for a Christmas Day opener, Exhibitor Relations said today.

Brad Pitt's The Curious Case of Benjamin Button scored $11.8 million in its debut, while Adam Sandler's Bedtime Stories bowed with $10.5 million.

Cruise's Valkyrie seemed to be the odd film out among the A-list Christmas openers. The Nazi thriller ran fourth with $8.5 million. Its per-screen average, however, was higher than that of Bedtime Stories, which played at nearly 1,000 more theaters.

Twilight Trouble!!

Since raking in more than $150 million at the box office during its first month, the vampire romance Twilight has catapulted its cast from relative obscurity to stardom.

Now, about nine weeks before the sequel, New Moon, is set to start filming, a change in director, possible cast upheaval, lofty expectations and cast members' problems dealing with sudden fame have everyone on edge.

"There's been a lot of tension surrounding the sequel," says a cast insider. "It's a stressful time for them right now."Some of the stars appear to be dealing with the pressure by hitting the party circuit -- to such a degree that it could be affecting their work.

Robert Pattinson, 22, who stars as brooding vampire Edward Cullen, is known for his rugged bad-boy image. But after a long night at Teddy's in Hollywood recently, he was especially disheveled for a business meeting about his latest film project, Parts Per Billion. "At least one person at the meeting noted that Rob looked a little worse for wear," reveals an insider close to the actor's camp.

And his leading lady, Kristen Stewart, 18, who plays mortal Bella Swan, has her own way of coping with the attention. "It's no secret that Kristen likes to unwind by smoking pot," says the cast insider.

Jennifer Aniston Admits GQ Cover was "Photoshopped"

Yoga isn't the only reason Jennifer Aniston looks good naked!

The actress made a confession about her sexy GQ cover when she appeared on The View on Wednesday.

"What happened to the girl next door from Friends?" Barbara Walters asked, holding up the January issue, where Aniston appears wearing only a tie.

"She's there! Photoshopped!" Aniston, 39, replied.

At one point, a laughing Aniston flipped the cover over, saying, "let's put this down."
Her take on what happened?

"There was a story behind this," the Marley & Me star explained. "This had a whole concept. It was going to be in various stages of undress. There was going to be me in a gown and men in tuxedos. And then it would be me wearing the man's shirt. And he would have no shirt on. And then they were supposed to get naked! Somehow I don't know what happened!"

Asked by View co-host Joy Behar if she had been tricked, Aniston quipped, "they got me bombed!"

No Truth to Michael Jackson Lung-Transplant Story

Claims that Michael Jackson needs a lung transplant because of a rare respiratory disease is a "total fabrication," according to a statement released by Jackson's "official and sole spokesperson, Dr. Tohme Tohme" and issued by Los Angeles firm Scoop Marketing, Reuters reports.

Word of Jackson's supposed condition – that he was suffering from Alpha 1-antitrypsin deficiency – had circulated after writer Ian Halperin, who's at work on an upcoming biography of the 50-year-old music legend, was interviewed in Britain's Sunday Express newspaper.

Britney's Dad Gets a Raise for Looking After Her

Contrary to most others in the American workplace this year, Britney Spears's father, Jamie Spears, just got a salary increase: to about $75 an hour.

On Monday, a Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner boosted by an additional $51,000 the elder Spears's payment for acting as his daughter's conservator, the Associated Press reports.

Since February, Jamie, 56, has been looking after Britney, 27, to the tune of $10,000 a month.

Court Commissioner Reva Goetz has now raised his fee to about $16,000 a month – and made the pay retroactive.

Jamie was also granted an additional $1,200 a month for office expenses, which Goetz said was justified by the fact that Britney's personal and professional life – her new CD Circus recently debuted at No. 1 – now appear to be back on track.

Paris Source: Door Not Unlocked Pre-Robbery

Despite a report in the Los Angeles Times claiming otherwise, the doors to Paris Hilton's Sherman Oaks home were locked the day it was robbed, a source told Usmagazine.com on Monday.

"All of Paris' diamonds, necklaces, rings, watches, old family heirlooms from her grandmothers was stolen."

The heiress, 27, wasn't at home when the burglar entered the house on Friday morning and took over $2 million in jewelry.

"They have the thief caught on tape since she has surveillance cameras set up in every room in her home," the source said. "In the tapes the thief knows exactly where to go, almost like he's been there before. Detectives are doing a big investigation and will catch this person."
Meanwhile, Hilton isn't taking any chances.

"Paris has upped her security team to three 24-hour bodyguards around the clock and has someone on her property at all times," the insider revealed.

“According to detectives, a man wearing a hooded sweatshirt and gloves forced entry into the front door, ransacked her bedroom and took an undisclosed amount of property and fled the scene."

Julianne Hough's New Love!

It often takes a decade to become a household name — but Julianne Hough did it in a year! Already a fan favorite on ABC’s Dancing With the Stars, the budding country singer released a hit album this year, as well as a collection of holiday songs.

More importantly, the Salt Lake City native has found happiness with her country crooner boyfriend, Chuck Wicks. And though both have settled in Nashville — in separate homes, so
far — Julianne will soon be on the road again, which means plenty of long-distance phone calls; the couple talks 24/7.

“We complement each other well,” says Julianne. “We understand each other’s careers and passions.”

"I’m not getting married, and I don’t have a ring on my finger. Well, I do, but not on my ring finger," she laughs. "Nothing is happening anytime soon. I’m enjoying my relationship, and each step."

Julianne was engaged once before to dancer Zach Wilson, but the engagement was called off in April 2007.

"I’m still close with him," she reveals to OK!. "We actually stayed together [through March 2008] after we called off the engagement. I wasn’t ready to get married. He’s a really great guy, and whoever ends up with him is very lucky."

Her split with Zach has definitely changed the way she looks at relationships, the dancing pro admits.

"I’m not rushing anything, and I’m a lot more secure with myself," she explains. "I definitely like who I am on my own without a boyfriend"
