'Slumdog Millionaire' Leads in British Award Wins







The cast and crew of 'Slumdog Millionaire' took home seven wins at the 2009 Orange British Academy Film Awards (or BAFTAs), including awards for Best Film, Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Director.

Mickey Rourke and Kate Winslet also had a reason to celebrate at the BAFTA's. The actors accepted awards for their lead roles in 'The Wrestler' and 'The Reader.'

As for the supporting acting categories, Heath Ledger and Penelope Cruz won for their performances in 'The Dark Knight' and 'Vicky Cristina Barcelona.'

Brad Pitt's film 'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button' accepted three awards for production design, special visual effects and makeup/hair.

The BAFTA Awards took place on at the Royal Opera House in London tonight.
