Coldplay, the Jonas Brothers and Lil Wayne go together like, well, Grammy nominees, of course.The acts all scored top nominations tonight for the 51st Annual Grammy Awards.
Coldplay and Lil Wayne notched Album of the Year nods for Viva La Vida and Tha Carter III, respectively. Ne-Yo (Year of the Gentleman) and fun-music couple Alison Krauss and Robert Plant (Raising Sand) also were nominated. Radiohead rounded out the category with a nod for In Rainbows, thus potentially causing Grammy-scoring headaches for people who think Radiohead is Coldplay or vice versa.
Lil Wayne led all artists with eight nominations. Coldplay scored seven. And not that Kanye West pays attention to such things, but he did well to pick up six, as did Ne-Yo and Jay-Z.
The Jonas Brothers made their mark in the Best New Artist category.
