Rihanna's Father: 'There Is Some Bruising'

Rihanna's father, Ronald Fenty, is speaking out about his daughter's condition almost a week after the R&B star was allegedly attacked by performer Chris Brown.

The 55-year-old salesman and freelance clothing designer describes Rihanna's current condition, saying, "There is some bruising. She will be alright. I think so."

Fenty, who says his daughter is spending time with girlfriends in Barbados while she heals, tells the Web site that when he heard that Brown allegedly attacked his daughter, "I didn't believe it. … They seemed pretty happy. I don't know what went wrong." He added, "You think you know somebody, but you really don't."

The 19-year-old Brown allegedly attacked an unnamed woman the night before both he and Rihanna were scheduled to perform on the Grammys last Sunday. Later, Rihanna reportedly checked into in Los Angeles hospital to tend to injuries. Brown was subsequently arrested on suspicion of domestic violence and released on $50,000 bail. He may face charges from the district attorney's office.

"At some point, she will speak out," says Fenty of his daughter "I hope she will stand up for women all over the world."

As for the state of the famous pair's relationship, Fenty says, "If it were me, I'd move on."
